You're going to land on a beatiful but hostile planet. Basically you need to collect everything you need to survive while avoiding getting killed.

You'll need to collect resources to first build a weapon and tools and later to build a shelter.

Sticks, fibre & stones Plants Wood Fur, leather, meat & bones Fish (optional) Water Oxite (Oxygen) Ores (optional)

First make a stone knife. Next make a stone pickaxe and stone axe. Third make a basic 2x2 shelter. Finally make a bed and fire.

The first 'Beachhead' mission teaches you the basics of survival. You need to go down to the planet Icarus and return. You arrive with nothing other than your suit and must collect what you need to return to the space station. You have 7 days (real time) to do this in. It won't take you that long.

In your second mission you are required to collect ores and send them up to the space station. This time you'll have to enter dangerous caves to collect some items. You'll be given a backpack and some special pickaxes to collect the ores.

Landing on the planet - Your screen

You're going to land on a beatiful but hostile planet. Basically you need to collect everything you need to survive while avoiding getting killed.

Just one thing - You are on a mission and you can't climb back into that shuttle until you have completed it or given up.

Let's take a look at the screen you will see:

As you can see, it can be difficult to read information you'll need. I've been telling the developers about that for years. If you have problems you'll find looking around so that the information you want is over a dark area can help. If all else fails then press 'C' to toggle your viewpoint and turn the screen until the information you want is displayed on the back of your spacesuit.

Pressing Escape will now pause the game. Useful if you want to take a break or look something up.

Next: You are going to get killed. This area may look OK but there are lots of ways to die. It's a good idea to learn what can kill you and what to do if this happens.
