John Chapman's Guide to Creativerse
Getting Started in Creativerse - 1 Setting Up
Assuming you have a Steam account and have downloaded and installed the game you'll need to go to the Steam Library, select 'Creativerse' and click 'Play.'
You'll now get something like this:
Before you pitch in and create a new world you might want to click the gear icon at the top right. You can then choose the sex of your player.
Having chosen the sex of your player, let's live dangerously and click New World.
You'll be given the chance to name your new world
Give your world a name and set a password to enter it. Make sure you make a note of each if you think you might want others to help you later. You can also add a world description but that's optional.
Let's check out the Advanced Options:
'Everyone Defaults to Visitor' means anyone else coming into your world will be able to look but not change anything.
PVP stands for 'Player Versus Player'. The default is to allow people to attack each other. Some find this fun but it's not good for a beginner so check this item.
You probably want to use explosives so leave 'Explosives Disabled' unchecked.
Peaceful mode means animals will not attack you but they will fight back if you attack them. Since you are learning at this stage, leave it unchecked because you have to learn how to defend yourself.
'Recipes Don't Carryover' needs to be unchecked because once you've learnt how to do something you don't want to re-learn it.
'Claims Enabled' is a new feature added recently. Leave it checked so that you can learn about it and the map.
