Go south from the main street in Yarm, a quite small town in North Yorkshire, England, and you'll find the River Tees. Along it's banks, you might find a fisherman.

A few years ago the scene wasn't quite so idyllic. The Tees barrage had not been built and the river was tidal. Your nose would have told you also, of the presence of a tannery, now closed. "Now what was that you were saying about the good ole days?"
