Can you help Connie get her home back?

Connie's home has been stolen! We know where it is, who has it and what is claimed. She's gone to court and the case has been delayed for a month. In the meantime Connie and her dog are homeless and have had to use their resources to pay hotel fees and buy takeout food. She doesn't even have her clothes or possessions.

How can a home be stolen?

Because she lives in a mobile trailer in Sevierville, Tennessee. She bought this and a 'friend' parked it for her on his land. He now claims he bought the trailer and has prevented her from accessing it. Yet Connie has the title to it and proof that she took out the loan to pay for it.

Why did the court allow this to continue?

Because this ex-friend took a letter to court from the former trailer owner saying he paid for the trailer. This isn't true. The former owner made a mistake in believing the ex-friend paid. Connie handed her the cash after taking out a loan on her truck for it. She has a receipt.

What else do we know?

1. We've been told the ex-friend is a convicted felon. He's not allowed to own guns yet he chased Connie away with a shotgun.

2. We've been told the ex- friend has no license or insurance but drove to the court in his truck

3. We've been told he's 72 years old and on disability. He plays on this to attempt to get away with theft.

4. We've been told, before preventing her from accessing the trailer, he went into Connie's trailer and removed Connie's handgun.

5. We've been told Connie fitted an extra lock to the trailer door. The ex-friend cut off Connie's padlock and added his own to prevent Connie entering.

6. He's placed a steel cable across the access road and parked a tractor behind it.

7. Connie has been to three magistrates and the police. The police wouldn't help without a magistrate directing them. They then wouldn't pass the 'no trespassing' sign and cable placed across the road without a court order.

Connie has lost almost everything

She has the clothes she was wearing, her dog, and her truck which now has a loan on it.

She's had to pay for hotel rooms. More expensive than normal due to her pet.

She's had to buy expensive food since she has no cooking facilities.

She's had to buy replacement clothes.

She's has to stay with a number of different friends since August.

She had to rent space at a trailer park - unused because she wasn't allowed to get the trailer.

She still has to pay the loan for the money she borrowed.

Can you help?

She needs a lawyer but hasn't the means to pay for one. She works but earns just enough to not qualify for legal aid. Do you know a TN lawyer who will take this case on a pro-bono basis?

She needs someone with a 'fifth wheel' to help her move the trailer or a fifth wheel to put in her own truck. That's about $300.
